            *** Carriage Motor Replacement - Motherboard Jumpers ***

SYMPTOM/TEXT: After replacement of the carriage drive motor (NS060004) check the
              motherboard for the presence of jumpers E1-E2 and E3-E4.  If they
              are present, remove them.  The replacement carriage drive motors
              are all new style motors and, if the jumpers are left on the
              motherboard, the printer will print all characters stretched to
              approximately double the normal width.

FIX: Old style motors are part number 994546-0001, new style motors are part
     number 2232582-8002.
