OVERVIEW
	This is a demonstration program for the Extruder's Technician program developed by SPIREX Corporation in cooperation with Plastics Technology magazine.  It looks and functions similar to the actual software except some options and certain functions have been disabled.  Disabled options appear dimmed and will not work.  Certain functions, when executed, display a message telling you they do not work.  For more detailed information about Extruder's Technician you can view the ET.wri file on disk #2 using the Windows Write word processor. 


CALCULATIONS
	There are many different calculations that Extruder's Technician can perform.  When a "greater than" arrow appears to the right of a menu option it means that another menu will appear when this option is selected. Although unavailable in the demo program, please note all the different calculations in the Extruder's Technician. The AREAS AND LENGTHS for Profile/Pipe is the only option available in the demo and you can only calculate the area.


REFERENCE
	This option give you access to the reference and training databases. Only the first option of the first four menu options are active, however you can still see all the useful information that is available in the actual Extruder's Technician program.  The Chemical menu option displays only the program screen.  The actual Extruder's Technician program gives you access to information about the periodic table elements.


CONVERSIONS
	This option displays the main screen of the conversion program.  It shows the many different conversions available in the Extruder's Technician program.


COSTING
	This option allows you to create cost estimates based on a variety of different costs.  These estimates can be saved to disk and, if needed, modified later.  Select OPEN A COST ESTIMATE to load the example included with the program.  The save and print features have been disabled in the demonstration program.


TROUBLESHOOTING
	Troubleshooting will display helpful information about the extrusion process.  In this demonstration program only the FILM - Blown troubleshooting is active.  


MAIN SCREEN	
	Used to clear the screen and display the opening screen.


ONLINE MANUAL	
	Use this function to view the operating manual for the Extruder's Technician.  This manual can be printed out using the print option.


EXIT
	Exit the program or read about the software.
